The Ministry No One Sees: A Letter to Our Prayer Partners

There are many things I get to witness as Clinic Manager at Hope House, but one of the greatest privileges is seeing firsthand the incredible impact our prayer partners have on this ministry.

Many of you never sit across from a frightened young mom. You may never perform an ultrasound, hand out diapers, teach a parenting class, or answer the phone. Yet I can honestly say that you are just as much a part of every life changed here as those of us who are physically in the building each day.

The Lord recently brought this verse to my heart:

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10

That verse describes each of you so beautifully.

God has given every believer unique gifts. Some encourage anxious mothers with compassionate words. Some prepare meals, organize supplies, greet clients, or serve quietly behind the scenes. And many of you faithfully pray—often without anyone else knowing.

As a nurse, I have seen moments when medicine reaches its limits, but God continues to work. I have watched fear turn into hope, uncertainty become peace, and hearts soften in ways that only the Holy Spirit can accomplish. Those moments are never accidents. More often than not, they are the fruit of faithful prayers that were lifted up long before a client ever walked through our doors.

Just this past week, we had the opportunity to serve several young women, but three in particular have stayed on my heart.

Before our appointments even began that morning, we sent out a prayer request to our prayer partners. One young mother arrived overwhelmed, frightened, and uncertain about both her future and the life growing inside her. Because of a language barrier, we communicated through a translation service, but God needed no interpreter.

As the appointment continued, something remarkable happened. Her tears gave way to peace. The fear that had been so evident began to lift. Before she left, she looked at us and said, “I don’t know why, but I feel like I’m not alone anymore.”

She chose life for her baby that day.

But even more importantly, she chose eternal life. Before leaving Hope House, she placed her faith in Jesus Christ and prayed to receive Him as her Savior.

When I think about that moment, I can’t help but think about all of you.

You may never meet this young woman. You may never know her name or hold her baby. But your prayers were part of her story.

That is the beautiful mystery of God’s kingdom. He invites us to participate in His work, and He often chooses to answer the prayers of His people in ways we could never imagine.

Our prayer partners are an essential part of this ministry. Your prayers strengthen our staff on difficult days. They surround frightened mothers with God’s peace. They protect unborn lives. They soften hearts. They remind us that this ministry has never been about what we can accomplish—it has always been about what God can do.

So thank you.

Thank you for saying “yes” when God called you to serve through prayer.

Thank you for faithfully standing in the gap for mothers, fathers, babies, and families you’ll likely never meet this side of heaven.

Thank you for believing that God still changes hearts, restores families, and rescues lives.

Please don’t grow weary. Never underestimate what God is doing through your faithfulness. Even when you cannot see the results, seeds are being planted. Lives are being transformed. Hope is being found in Christ. Eternity is being changed.

You are not “just” volunteers.

You are ministers of God’s grace.

You are a vital part of the mission of Hope House, and we simply could not do this work without you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your servant hearts, your unwavering prayers, and your commitment to sharing the love of Christ with every life that walks through our doors.

May God richly bless you as you continue to faithfully use the gifts He has entrusted to you.
